I purchased this remote so that we could consolidate remotes and not have to have 4 or 5 lay around. I was a little concerned that our older receiver might not work with it but it did. It took hubby a little while to set the remote up but it was worth it. We now have one remote and we can watch TV w/o surround sound, watch TV with surround sound, listen to the radio, watch a DVD.... and all I have to do is touch the picture on the remote for what I want to do and then push 1 button and the remote turns on whatever I need. When we're done press 1 button and everything turns off...Battery lasts a long time before we have to put it on the charger. Best $$ I ever spent!
