Just received the Harmony 900 today. It took me a few minutes to download the software, another minute or two (or less...wasn't actually timing the install) to install the sofware, and maybe 15 minutes to program the Harmony 900. It took me another 2 or 3 minutes to plugin the IR mini blasters, position them, and update the receiver from the remote. It was absolutely painless - and best of all, the remote just works. The gear I'm controlling with the Harmony 900: Sony STR-DN1000 receiver Scientific Atlanta 8300HD cable box Panasonic DMP-BD55 Blu-ray player Panasonic TC-P65V10 plasma TV I'm using it in 100% RF mode to control my small setup - the components are in a cabinet/stand below the TV. A large coffee table obstructs line-of-sight to the gear within the tv cabinet, making use of IR remotes troublesome. I sit approximately 9-10 feet away and have NO issues with ANY of the commands sent to control this gear. I walked another 15 feet away to my kitchen (total of 25 feet) and had NO issues - no walls in between, though. I almost did not buy this due to all the negative reviews. I have found all my other logitech gear works very well - I thought about it and took a chance thinking this would perform equally well. It DOES (for me, at least). One thing I have seen people complain about quite a bit is poor RF reception - again, I have NO problems with this. In all the reviews I read on this remote (here and elsewhere on the web), I found only ONE that mentioned placing the RF receiver on top of metal may DECREASE the RF range. That same review said he/she placed the RF receiver on the floor and that fixed the RF problem I have my RF receiver on wood inside the cabinet - NO issues. My setup is fairly simple, but the remote works very well with it. I have no need for macros right now - the activities work just fine for me. I highly recommend this remote.
